Earth Friendly EcoCanvas
The SoyPoz EcoCanvas System is made up of a LEED acceptable cementitious micro topping, and an ECO friendly polymer additive. When combined the two products become very strong, flexible, and make a great canvas for the SoyStain and SoyCoat products.
The SoyPoz Decorative EcoCanvas System is a durable cementitious eco-mix containing 100% postindustrial pozzolan recycled material, along with Portland cement, and sand. This formula uses enough pozzolan to achieve LEEDS points, and cuts down on the carbon footprint by using less Portland cement.
It is used to create a new high performance concrete substrate suitable for interior/exterior decorative finishes. Forms a tenacious bond to virtually any substrate, when properly prepped.
Where to use:
Use on timber, concrete, tile, laminate, metal, and asphalt, or over existing coatings. This system is adequate for foot traffic, vehicular traffic, and industrial traffic, after full cure. (Foot traffic 24hrs/cars, trucks, and industrial traffic 28days).
Coverage:Covers up to 200 sq.ft. At approximately 1/16” -1/8”.
Preparation of Surface:
Substrate must be clean and dry. SoyPoz will not adhere to oil, damp or wet surfaces. Fill deep cracks, spawls, non-moving joints etc with an epoxy filler, or a quick setting patching material. Remove all loose debris surface imperfections, oil, grease, etc. The strength of your bond depends on floor prep. Abrade coatings or surfaces that have a glossy finish to achieve bond strength. Apply waterproofing sealants to control excessive moisture vapor emissions where present prior to application. If applying over existing cement, check moisture levels before applying.
Mixing instructions:
Follow instructions on SoyPoz Polymer prior to use. Always add powder to pre-mixed water & SoyPoz Polymer.
Drying time:
Typically within 4 hours at 72 F. When material turns white, it is ready for immediate staining. When mixed with water/polymer, product has a 20-30 minute pot life, based on 72F, between 20%-80% humidity.
Sealing:
Finished project must be sealed when complete to protect against moisture penetration. Bonding and Strength will continue to increase over a 28-day period, but it is ready for use within the recommendations of your coating system.
Application Method:
Can be applied by squeegee, paint roller, trowel, or hopper spray system.
Product Performance:
When used with SoyPolymer the comprehensive strength will be 6,700+ PSI after 28 days. The average bond strength will be 430 PSI per mil thickness of 0” edge to ¼” thickness.
Safety Precautions:
Read MSDS for all safety information prior to use. Take precaution in using proper safety gear when mixing cement products, as they can cause eye, skin, and health hazards.
Caution:
Keep container closed when not in use. When using chemicals, do not take internally. Always use with adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Keep away from children. Cover, or dispose of buckets properly, so as to prevent drowning.
